Southwest Elementary School Mission Statement

Vision: To provide the opportunity for each student to develop intellectually, socially, physically, and creatively.

Mission: To provide the opportunity and environment for children to attain maximum educational achievement and personal success by focusing upon the basics of reading and mathematics, demanding high performance of students and staff.

Theme: "Fostering growth, nurturing excellence, inspiring greatness."

Goal #1: Southwest Elementary will lead a culture and environment that successfully develops the full range of students’ learning capacities-academic, creative, social-emotional, behavioral, and physical as evidenced by the implementation of social emotional initiatives with integrity. Southwest will lead a culture and environment that successfully supports all staff in becoming a positive organization working together for the success of all students.

Goal #2: Southwest Elementary will have a commendable or higher designation status measured by state assessments at the end of the 2026-27 school year.

Goal #3: 75% of all students will be present for 90% or more of the 2026-27 school year.
